Release Date!

CODE Bunny Dropkicks its way into Itch.io Sep. 22, 2023!

Hey, it's been a while. How have y'all been?

We're happy to finally announce the game's Release Date! CODE Bunny was a tough project. It was full of ups and downs, difficult decisions and stress, but also a very special project for us at Team Seventh Star. We hope the high speed action and the heartfelt narrative captures your attention when you play the game!

Currently, all of the game's playable content is complete, save for some very minor tweaks. We're mostly finishing Cutscene content and UI, so you can rest assured knowing the game will be delivered with no delay.

We prepped a Gameplay trailer for this occasion, showcasing the game's levels and bosses:

All the while, in the background...

It's been a rough year for myself (Lavie) and the rest of the team, as we've been dealing with IRL issues, as well as the game's development. We did go into a month-long hiatus at one point, since things were just too overwhelming.

Making games is HARD, and CODE Bunny was no exception. It was a very ambitious project, containing 2 unique playable campaigns with very major differences and stories. Sometimes, it felt like we were making TWO games at the same time. (I don't recommend anyone to do this as one of their first projects, it's kinda crazy)

After the game's release, we'll keep updating it with patches and will keep an eye out for community feedback. So please, voice your opinions on the game's systems and even its story when it's out, as we'd love to take feedback into our repertoire.

What does the future look like?

I (Lavie) am going to work on smaller projects after CODE Bunny, so don't expect big, ambitious projects popping up. I'll make shorter games with a shorter development time, strictly, for a while. I'm very passionate about making games, and so is everyone on the team.

However, I wouldn't like to burn myself out as much as I did in this project. It takes up a lot of time, effort, mental strength, and it's a pretty expensive commitment too. I'm already working on another (smaller) project for college, and should drop it on Itch when it's done. I'm sure it'll be a blast C:

Lastly, I'd like to thank FinalBento, Skyrunner and Violeta (my beloved girlfriend), Joonaxii, Alumae and OuroYisus (for their amazing support on the game and as friends), Jessie, Nekuu and Bisdante (for their incredible concept artwork that helped bring this world to life) and everyone else who was involved in this project.

Thank you for your attention, and for supporting CODE Bunny.

- With passion, Lavie Murchio
